U.S. Department of the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program participants receive a weekly stipend which is based on the status of the participant's application.

The stipend levels for the U.S. Department of the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program faculty are as follows:

• Assistant Professor: $1,545/weekly
• Associate Professor: $1,751/weekly
• Professor: $1,957/weekly

The stipend levels for the U.S. Department of the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program graduate students are as follows:

• Currently pursuing a master's degree*: $911/weekly
• Currently pursuing a Ph.D.*: $1,210/weekly

*The graduate student stipend is based on the degree the student is pursuing at the time he/she is nominated by the faculty member.

Please note: Applicants should be aware that stipend payments from other federal funding sources including research grants and contracts may not be accepted during the tenure of a summer faculty appointment.

Travel mileage will be reimbursed at the rate estabished by the Joint Travel Regulation at the time of travel.

A daily expense allowance of $70 per workday is provided to U.S. Department of the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program participants who have obtained a temporary residence while working at an Air Force research facility. In order to receive this allowance, the temporary residence must be located greater than a fifty-mile distance (one way by the most direct route) from the participant's permanent address.
